Quakers' causeway026

Impressive in its construction, requiring the carrying and laying of thousands of large flagstones, this is probably the best example of an ancient pannier way used for trade and also for pilgrimage. It runs for about a mile through what would otherwise be the boggy land between Stanghow, Skelderskew and Moorsholm moors.
